Quick Details
The tours at Stranahan House are self-guided audio tours in which each guest will have a personal listening wand. Guests can go at their own pace through each room listening, relistening, or skipping the content as they see fit. Throughout the house, there will be volunteers stationed to help with the technology or answer any questions guests may have about the house and its history. The 45 minute recording will give information about Frank and Ivy Stranahan, their childhoods, their lives together, and the history of the city. Audio tours are available in English, Spanish, and French.
Tour booking times are in 30-minute intervals to help keep the pace and guests are allowed to start their tour anytime during their 30-minute booking. To book, click the date you are interested in coming, then choose from the times available. If you have questions, call Stranahan House at 954-524-4736.
Children 4 years of age and under are free to attend. However, we encourage parents and guardians to consider the maturity and attention span of their young ones. The content and pace of our tours may not align with the entertainment expectations of younger children, which could impact the enjoyment of other participants.

The Stranahan House Museum proudly partners with the Better Days Foundation, a Florida-based environmental 501c3 with 2 fundamental goals;
to Inspire, empower, and to educate, and to lead the way by organizing Beach Cleanups as a way to bring communities together, educate people on the dangers of plastic and how a simple act like taking a walk on the beach picking up some garbage can create change.
Accessibility
To ensure accessibility, we have ramps leading up to the first floor of the house, allowing tour guests in wheelchairs to enjoy the entire first floor. However, our second floor is accessible only by stairs. Preserving the historic nature of the house presents challenges in altering the interior or exterior to accommodate accessibility. Nonetheless, we do offer a virtual tour featuring informational videos of each of the rooms upstairs which provide an alternative experience for those who cannot access the second floor in person. These videos also contain a sign-language interpreter translating the audio into ASL for guests with hearing impairments. We also offer a handicap accessible parking space in our parking lot, please call the office if you’d like to use the space for your tour so that we may open our gate for you. For more information about our accessibility information and our Service Animal policy, please call our office at (954)-524-4736 or email our office manager Brittany at membership@stranahanhouse.org.
