In an effort to acommodate more guests into the house, we will occasionally offer these “self-guided” tours of the house. Different from our 1-hour guided tours which are led by a docent, self-guided tours allow guests to come in the House during the allotted times and spend as much or as little time as they’d like exploring the House. Educated and experienced docents will be present inside the museum to share the story of the House, the founding family, and the City of Fort Lauderdale. Ask them as many questions as you’d like.
Even though the tour might say that it “starts” at a certain time, you are more than welcome to come any time within the allotted timeframe. On the calendar to the right, please click the green box on the date you would like to visit to see the full timeframe that is available. If there are no green boxes available, it means we do not currently have any availabilities for self-guided tours.
What to Bring
You will be on our feet for the duration of your stay so please wear comfortable shoes
Parking
Please note that like many metropolitan areas, parking is limited. We have 1 handicap accessible parking spot available to anyone with a handicap placard on a first come, first serve basis. For all other parking, please use the lot to the East of Boathouse at the Riverside (620 SE 4th Street) and then walk about 150 yards to our gate.
